A new functional beverage launched with a unique, summery base

A fermented drink halfway between kombucha and mead, jun is what Pete Bine, president of Hive Beverage, calls a “3 o’clock beverage.” With around 10 milligrams of caffeine from its honey-sweetened green tea base and gut health benefits from the arrabina prebiotic fiber added during secondary fermentation, BeePop’s built to handle the mid-afternoon slump.

“We’re a clean-label fermented soda brand launching at Expo West,” Bine explained. “For sweetness, because the original honey is eaten up by the bacteria in the fermentation process, we add real fruit, honey and that’s it. The way they add the arrabina … not only does it add fiber to your diet, but it also, in the process, makes our bubbles finer. So, you get a smooth, champagne bubble as well.”
